Yes, we’re all still standing. Some 1/4 of the population of the U.S. is being blanketed by a huge snowstorm and much cold. SNOWMAGEDDON!!!
Excited newscasters gave the impression that the storm would concentrate on Washington DC. Hence, the government shut down at noon today, Friday, Jan. 22. It will be closed until at least Monday, maybe even longer than that.
So, far we’re all fat and happy. Don’t miss the government a single bit. It’s nice to have local road workers putting out salt and plowing streets. It’s nice to have local emergency “managers” on the job. But the Feds? Who needs ’em???
Everyone should send an email to his/her Congress critter and twit them about this.
“Tell me again why it was so good that the $1 Trillion ANNUAL budget passage avoided a government shutdown? Hmmm?”
Then, if you are in the snow zone, just lean back and enjoy the incredible power of the silence of the snow. I guarantee you’ll come out of the storm a much happier and more peaceful person.
