The UK became a nation of zombies more than 50 years ago, as evidenced by this British rock band of 1966: The Zombies!
Sen. Harry Reid’s nuclear option, which he was against before he was for it, passed the Senate a few days ago. The passage of this procedural change effectively eliminates any minority option. This move tells us that today’s Senators are nothing more than zombies.
As you will recall, the Roman Senate failed BEFORE the Emperors began to rule. The collapse of the Roman Senate was one of the first steps toward doom for the Romans, though admittedly it took a couple of centuries for the corpse to fall over.
Republican Senators who insulted and attacked the Republicans in the House and Senate who were demanding that Congress defund or delay Obamacare should apologize. Pres. Obama was refusing to budge, refusing to negotiate while the brave Senators were warning of big-time problems to come.
If we recall correctly, the other Senators were saying “It’s the law of the land. Elections have consequences (implying that the vote for B. Obama was a vote for Obamacare). Go along to get along.”
Since that time, Obamacare has been a continuing disaster everywhere and for everyone. Supporters, opponents, general public are learning of the huge lies that were being told by every Democrat in Congress and the Administration. It continues at this moment.
And the Obama administration has been backing up ever since the law was supposed to go into effect. You may have missed this pre-Thanksgiving day news dump: Obama Administration Delays Online Health-Insurance Sign-Ups for Small Businesses
…the administration doesn’t expect the site to be available for small businesses to buy their plans until November 2014, the official said.”
This is about the last group left to be let off the hook by an administration that was claiming it would never negotiate and never allow a single change to their precious law. It looks as if no one will have to sign up for a least a year, so it should be easy to repeal the law.
The website is still a disaster. Administration officials claim that is due to too many people trying to get on at once. IFO calls BS! And remember, even if anyone can get on, many still can’t find, select and BUY an insurance policy!
That’s probably a good thing for the insurance companies, since it looks as if only the old and sick will be getting policies anyway. The young are strangely absent. IFO thinks this is due to inability to pay for insurance given the high under- and unemployment rate in this demographic.
Investment lesson: To stay out of the path of the zombies, keep a close eye on news headlines and keep track of our fast-moving culture and stock market. We are nearing a top when the markets make the front page of the news.
