Notes on immigration

Investment and Lifestyle lesson: Move to a Third World country! I’m kind of fuzzy on the details right now, but I say, go now while you still can! Here’s why:

The Swiss newspapers are full of articles bemoaning the increase in foreigners in the country and noting the crimes and auto accidents that almost all seem to involve said foreigners. Most of thesse foreigners are from the Balkans, Africa and the near East and Pakistan.

There is a sprinkling of Koreans, Thais, Indians and South Americans, but most of them seem to be married to Swiss men. And they don’t seem to be causing any trouble at all.

When I was in Aargau’s Immigration Bureau, the waiting was full of Southeastern Europeans and Africans. That got me to remembering my trip to the Social Security offices in Salem, Oregon. Same thing, except primarily Mexicans and Central Americans.

This made me think that these countries and areas may be emptying out, as the natives flee north to greener pastures.

So, those people who are tired or angry about the political and economic situation in Europe and the U.S. now have a new option: Go South!

A somewhat cynical Swiss friend of mine says Europe is becoming a kind of life-size Disneyland, visited bypeople from all over the world to see what these once-great civilizations produced. *sigh*
