Joblessness goes up! Experts shocked! Again.

Well, well, well. We can’t say we’re surprised. Experts have been surprised and shocked for months now. Everytime a bad economic indicator comes out, they are surprised. Every time a good one comes out, they say, “See? We told you everything was getting better!”

So, what is it? First, we must ask – where do these experts live? If in an ivory tower (read: Ivy League college) everything looks rosy. “Everybody I know has a good, safe job. How bad can things be?” If in Washington DC, “Housing prices are stable or going up! What’s your problem?”

As Yogi Berra said: “You can see a lot just by observing.” We suggest observing in the real US, where people are closing their minds to anything these people have to say. They seem to think the Casey Anthony case is more interesting. *sigh* At least it gets their minds off of the uncertainty that is stalking the land.

Hooray for Google, where that Yogi Berra quote we were looking for popped up with proper attribution. And speaking of Google, it looks as if the great brains up in Wash DC are hounding another CEO – Eric Schmidt.

IFO just had to comment on that:

These Congresspeople have no clue whatsoever how much time, energy – both mental and physical – is required to create a successful company. Oh, wait – maybe they do and just don’t care.
Are they also aware that their constant badgering of top executives always seems to have a very bad effect on the companies’ bottom line – for years??? Oh, wait – they probably do.
