A sad little postscript to a long, sad saga of corporate hubris and destruction.
The criminal case related to the failed Enron Corp. broadband unit finally wrapped up after eight years. Former Enron broadband executive Rex Shelby was sentenced Monday during a federal court hearing in Houston. He faced up to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty last year to insider trading.
The Houston TV station, KHOU.com reported moments ago that he got two years probation, and, “As part of his sentence, Rex Shelby will have to serve three months in a halfway house and three months in home confinement.”
